Image quality 1
When light passes through the binoculars, it loses some of its intensity. Each lens absorbs a proportion (a few percent) of the light passing through it. With 12 optical components, the quantity absorbed becomes significant. This requires a treatment to be applied to each component to reduce the proportion absorbed. But every treatment represents a cost. And the more effective the treatment, the more expensive it is. Binoculars are therefore designed to carefully balance effectiveness and price.
Image quality 2
The binoculars have a BaK4 prism with a dielectric coating and lenses with an FBMC treatment: Full broadband multi-coated – a balanced multi-coated treatment has been applied to all surfaces for optimal light transmission. These 2 features offer a light transmission of 83% as well as good contrast and colour rendition during the day, and excellent brightness at dusk. The prism provides high-resolution details.
Binoculars are nitrogen-filled to keep water out and prevent fogging up. Withstands immersion at a depth of 1 metre for 15 minutes.
Brightness and use
For observation and hunting enthusiasts who rely heavily on their binoculars even during the night, the 900 8x56 binoculars are dedicated to demanding and quality observation under all conditions. Excellent image quality, 56 mm lens for more brightness. You can see animals even at night. This is the time when many species are particularly active and therefore more easily visible, with the right equipment.
Exit pupil
A human pupil varies from 2 mm to 3 mm during the day, from 4 mm to 5 mm at dusk, and from 6 mm to 7 mm in the dark. This makes it important to choose a pair of binoculars with an exit pupil that covers your entire pupil, in order to make full use of their luminosity depending on your needs. The 8x56 binoculars have a 7 mm exit pupil, making them well suited to being used in the dark.
Twist up eyecups for spectacle wearers. For non-spectacle wearers, twist out the eyecups as far as they will go. For spectacle wearers, twist the eyecups down to the binocular body. To obtain a clear, sharp image of the observed animal, turn the central focusing knob to the left or right until you get a sharp image.
To compensate for difference in visual acuity between your eyes: Close your right eye and focus on an object about metres away using the central knob. Once the object is sharp, close the other eye and repeat the operation, this time using the dioptre correction ring located near the right eyecup. The difference between your eyes is now compensated for. You no longer need to use the dioptre correction ring.
