Technical Information

1
Sole Grip
The grip of our soles is certified. To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate (0.6 for this model) on different surfaces (smooth, rugged, dry, wet). To approve these tests, we then assess the quality of our soles in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of kid testers.
2
Which size should you choose?
For hiking, do not hesitate to choose one size above your usual size to ensure optimal comfort when abseiling and prevent your toes from hitting the front of the shoe. Tip: keep your toenails short, and before abseiling at any time, check that your laces are tight enough to stop your feet slipping down towards the front of the shoes.
3
Purchase advice
Ask your kid to try on both shoes, stood up, with the socks used for hiking. Check the following two areas of comfort: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. There should be no compression points when fitting. Get your kid to gradually wear in the shoes during their first few hikes so that they conform to their feet. On the internet, you can print the pedometer and check your kid’s foot length.
4
REMOVABLE INSOLE
Removable insole for faster drying. It can also be replaced by an orthopaedic insole.

Test
To meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the mountains in conditions that you will come across during your hikes. Sarah, our Field Test Engineer, as well as a panel of kid testers, test the products throughout their development until they go to market.

Product test
Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are attractive, simple and technologically advanced. We then test them ruthlessly in the field, because we believe that the only way to continually improve is to conduct tests in the real-life conditions that you will experience.
