Durability of the components
Resistance to wear and abrasion test: for example, we check that our fleeces do not pill using tests conducted in laboratories. Colour retention test: the colour fastness is verified to ensure that the colours do not bleed when coming into contact with saliva. Ageing test: repeated washing should not affect the fabric's properties, behaviour, thickness or appearance.
Water repellency
A quality achieved by applying a hydrophobic, water repellent treatment to a fabric. This process prevents water from sticking to the fabric's surface, thus limiting the latter's ability to absorb water. When movement is added to the equation, water runs off the fabric. This is what is meant by water repellent. Thanks to its water repellent properties, water does not soak into the outer fabric. The trousers remain light and dry more quickly.
Wind protection is very important because of the significant chill effect that wind can have on the body, whether you are active or at rest.According to the "windchill" model, which measures how the air temperature feels when factoring in the wind & cold:At a temperature of 5°C combined with winds of 30km/h, the temperature felt will be 0°C. If the air temperature is 0°C & wind speed is 30km/h, the temperature felt will be -6°C. The materials used help to counter the chilling effects of the wind
Because we are aware that we must act to preserve our playground, Quechua is committed to limiting the environmental impact of its products. We have optimised the design of these trousers and selected a lightweight component without compromising on quality. We have reduced the CO2 impact of the trousers by 20% compared to the previous model. This is still not enough and that's why we are working to make these trousers 100% eco-designed one day.

Product test
Our design team is based at the foot of Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie (France). All year round, we create and develop products that are beautiful, simple and technologically advanced. These are then tested in the field as we believe that the only way to continually improve our products is to test them under the real-life conditions that you will experience.
