LEVEL OF GRIP OF OUR SOLES WITH GRIP
The grip of our soles is certified To be benefit from the certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip coefficient on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet). To validate these tests, we got a representative panel of testers to evaluate the quality of the soles in the field, in the mountains, over a distance of 500 km The lug pattern will also give you suitable grip on wet and muddy terrain

HOW WATERPROOF ARE THESE BOOTS?
This boot has been validated by a waterproofing test at 10,000 repeatable flexes, i.e. 10 km - 3 hours of walking, in water up to the mid-upper, which today guarantees a very good level of waterproofing for your boots. --> Our assessment indicates a LEVEL OF 2/5 giving 6 hours of waterproofing when hiking in the rain. The details of tests carried out to assess the waterproofing of our boots is below, in the features section.

HOW TO PROLONG THE WATERPROOFING OF THIS TEXTILE MODEL?
Even though this model has a WATERPROOF MEMBRANE (waterproof - breathable), we recommend using a waterproofing spray several times a year to restore its water repellency and prevent staining on the outside --> It means restoring the water repellency of the outer material (water runs off and does not soak inside). Each fabric section is sprayed and in particular don't forget the thread in the seams (water loves seams!! )

CARE ADVICE, APPLYING THE WATERPROOFING SPRAY
1 / Use a brush and/or a sponge to clean, remove any soil or mud. 2/ Then leave to air dry, away from any heat source. 3 / Shake the WATERPROOF SPRAY can / €5 4 / Spray the product from a distance of 25 cm 5 / Leave for at least 10 minutes. WHICH SIZE SHOULD I SELECT?
For hiking, feel free to buy one size larger than your usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the boot. Tip: keep your toenails short and, before descending, check that your lacing prevents your foot from sliding forwards inside the boot.

BUYING TIPS / HOW TO TRY YOUR BOOTS ON
How to choose your boots: 1. Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. 2. Tighten the laces correctly 3. Check the following two areas of comfort: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. 4. Get up to walk with the boots on. 5. Try on several sizes and several models. 6. Wear your boots for increasingly longer periods to wear them in

WATERPROOFING TEST
Our boots are laboratory tested according to two successive tests Test 1 / We test the efficiency of the membrane only when it is pressured and placed in water, we check the absence of water on the surface, like when you test a punctured inner tube. Test 2 / Thanks to mechanical arms that simulate walking, the entire boots are half immersed in water and they complete thousands of flexes to check that the inside of the boot remains dry and it is therefore waterproof.

Product test
All our shoes undergo comfort and use tests carried out by users who are representative of our target market, in conditions identical to those found in typical use. In particular, our Test Missions link the product manager up with people who are not affiliated to FORCLAZ to test, develop and approve the products.
