Technical Information

1
Can I be sure that my jacket is warm enough for my winter hikes?
We developed your jacket for intense wintry conditions: extreme cold, snow, wind. Insulation is provided by thick wadding made of a synthetic component that insulates thanks to the air trapped in its fibres. We added a long inner flap underneath the zip to stop cold air from entering. The tightening at the bottom of the jacket is the finishing touch to ensure your parka is comfortable.
2
How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?
Your jacket is designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The hood with removable synthetic fur, the wrist cuffs and stand-up collar all keep out the cold. The high handwarmer pockets with fleece lining are perfect for protecting your hands in a comfortable position.
3
How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?
We designed your extreme cold jacket with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof. The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2,000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2,000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
4
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
Your jacket is waterproof thanks to its taped main seams. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.
5
A practical jacket with smart details
Practical and smart details: 2 handwarmer pockets, 2 outer pockets with flap, 1 secure inner pocket, 1 mesh inner pocket to keep your belongings close at hand. The main zip has a long zip puller. It has a double cursor for ventilation when wearing your jacket. This is also very useful for bending over or sitting down comfortably.
6
A comfortable, lightweight and flowing extreme cold jacket.
We designed this jacket with a comfortable fit so that it could be worn with a warm second layer such as fleece or light down jacket. Its longline parka style is ideal for protecting you from the cold and wind during your winter hikes in large hilly areas or in the mountains. It is a lightweight and flowing product that is easygoing and comfortable in every situation.
7
Will my jacket withstand regular use over the long-term?
To ensure the durability of our products, we perform tests on components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colour fastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been carried out on the component on your jacket.
8
How to preserve the technical qualities of my jacket?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. As a result, the fabric does not soak up water and stays light, breathable and warm. A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be renewed during the lifetime of the garment (we recommend with every wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.
9
How to dress properly for snow hiking?
To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle: layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry. layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards. layer 3: The jacket protects from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind. The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.
10
How does my product warranty work?
This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.
