Technical Information

How to adjust your walking poles?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust them: unscrew the middle section beneath the lower section ring, adjust to the desired height (in cm), and screw back on firmly but not too tight. Do the same with the lower section. NEVER GO OVER THE "STOP LINE" or the pole may break during use.
2
Directions for use
Before leaving: always check that your poles are well tightened. When descending, or other intense mountain outings, for example, you can lengthen your poles. When walking downhill, it's best to remove the strap so the pole won't get in your way if you fall.

Care tips
Maintaining your poles properly enable you to maintain optimal function and increases their lifespan. After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush. Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.

Why sell them individually?
At Decathlon, we have decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. First because of how they are used. Indeed, some people only want to use one pole. This meets their needs. Also, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.

Accessories
Winter basket (large diameter) provided. Compatible with Quechua summer baskets

NEVER FORGET SAFETY...
For off-piste hiking, make sure you are equipped with maps, a compass and/or GPS and carry an Avalanche Victim Detector, a shovel and a probe. These three pieces of equipment allow you to be found if you are caught in an avalanche, or look for a victim. And do not forget to revise your security basics.

Test
Our field testers. In addition to these laboratory tests, Théo, our trial engineer ensures that each model also passes the test on standardised test terrains. They enable us to confirm comfort, ease of adjustment, vibrations, etc. Finally, durability is also confirmed with a durability test mission that can be up to 500 km long.

Product test
To set our thresholds, we have measured the stresses on the poles in the most demanding situations. During the design stage, each model passes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses, etc.) until rupture. We also tests parts separately (tightening power, tearing, etc). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated during production to guarantee constant quality.

Stockage tips
Store the poles in a dry place, do not tighten the sections.
