Badminton Racket
One of the best ways to spend a weekend is to spend it with your family, playing your favourite game. And who doesn’t love badminton? It is not only a great way to spend your weekend, but it also keeps you and your family members fit. It is a racket sport that requires quick flexes and good stamina. Are you ready to burn some calories?
At Decathlon, we design a range of rackets for you but choosing the one for you or your kid could be hectic and tiresome. Refer to the points below on how to choose the best badminton racket:
Choose badminton racket based on your playing frequency
Occasional player: If you’re an occasional player, you will need a racket with an isometric head, which will have a larger surface area and will be more forgiving when your strokes are slightly off-centre and will make your first games easier.
Regular Player: If you play regularly, you’ll need a racket that has power. A racket with a balance point at the head will provide power and will make delivery easier.
Intensive Player: The main priority for intensive players is to have control of the racket. A racket with a balance point at the handle will meet the expectations of your game giving you excellent reactivity.
Choose based on racket composition
Steel rackets: Steel rackets are very strong and offer good value for money. But they are usually heavy.
Aluminium Rackets: They are also strong rackets and lighter than steel rackets.
Graphite Rackets: Graphite rackets are lightweight, flexible, and easy to handle. They are usually more expensive than other rackets.
Decathlon Badminton Rackets are more Durable & Affordable.
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q1. Which is the Best Badminton Racket for a Beginner?
If you are just starting to play Badminton, or consider yourself as beginner, kindly look for a pocket friendly sturdy racket which has a large hitting surface.
For Example:
Q2. Which is the Best Badminton Racket for an Intermediate?
If you claim to be an Intermediate Badminton player, you would already have a style of game i.e. Attack or Control.
We suggest Attack players to use a Head Heavy or Power Racket.
Example: Badminton Racket BR 590 P
We suggest Control players to use a Balance Racket
Q3. Is there any recommended tension for Badminton Racket?
String tension differs for player to player .
This would depend on you level of game. Advanced players might prefer higher tension than Intermediate or Beginner players.
We generally recommend a tension of 24-26lbs for average regular Badminton players.
You might need to work out what tension suits you best by testing different string tensions over time.
Kindly decrease or increase your string tension gradually by 1 or 2 lbs max.
While some professional players might prefer a tension of 30lbs, we do not recommend tension this high if you are social or club player as it may lead to injuries and low performance.
