Archery Bows

Archery is one of the oldest arts practiced today. One of Japan’s most well-known martial arts, originally known as “kyujutsu” (the art of the bow), is known as “kyudo” (the way of the bow).

The simplest type of bow is called a self bow. Naturally occurring wood and vine can be used to make this kind of a bow by bending the wood and holding it in tension by a string. The composite bow is a more advanced weapon that incorporates other materials in order to advance the weapon’s capabilities. Horn wood, Glue and Sinew increase the flexibility of the archery bow, which in turn allows for an increase in the velocity and range of the arrow. Advancements within the bowhunting arena have not only influenced how you hunt but also allowed the sport to advance beyond a significant number of practitioners and turn into the global community that it is today. Technology has clearly made bowhunting broadly appealing but it still takes a lot of practice to master the use of a bow.

COMPOUND BOW: The compound bow is a bow with a high draw weight that is mostly dedicated to competition use.

THE LONGBOW: The longbow is also called a traditional bow. It is a one-piece construction and is intended for advanced archers (no accessories can be fitted to it).

RECURVE BOW: The recurve bow is a bow that adapts to your use, whilst being available in different sizes, making it suitable for a wide range of people
