Stops snow from getting inside - generally
This kids’ snowboard jacket (or kids’ ski jacket, that works too) is designed to stop snow getting inside: _ on the back: snow skirt + longline cut, _ at the cuffs (extremely exposed area): long sleeves + cuffs to protect the wrist, _ the neck: collar with a high gusset / hood with velcro to keep it rolled in high position, to protect the neck under the helmet.
Stops snow from getting inside - focus on the very sensitive wrist area
This jacket has been designed, developed and tested with the MI 500 JR PROTECT snowboard mittens which go under the jacket so that kids can put the mittens through the sleeve on their own (from 8 years upwards - at 6, it's still complicated). Then there are a host of features to keep the snow out 1. jacket sleeve with thumb loop to prevent the sleeve riding up, 2. the mitten reaches high up the wrist 3. the jacket sleeve then covers everything.
This jacket has 100 g/sqm filling with a brushed polyester lining for warmth.
As well as the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of our kids' snowboard jackets, or our kids’ ski jackets, with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. Only the main seams on the shoulders are taped on this SNB JKT 100 jacket.
This Decathlon kids’ snowboard jacket is designed for occasional snowboarding, nevertheless it has 4 pockets: _ 2 side pockets secured with a zip fastening, _ 1 secured inside pocket with a velcro fastening _ 1 skipass pocket on the left sleeve secured with a velcro fastening.
Hood rolled under the helmet
Falls happen when snowboarding and snow can enter the jacket. To limit this unpleasant experience, the collar and hood were designed together. So that the hood can be used as a scarf and keep the snow out, fold the hood in 4 and velcro it so that it stays up and fills the gap under the helmet. The collar should be closed normally, up to the top, to tighten the jacket.
Hood over the helmet
The hoods of the Snb JKT 100 jackets is not designed to be worn over the helmet. This function is available on Snb JKT 500 jackets.
ADDITIONAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT INFORMATION
By using _ Recycled Polyester (outer fabric, wadding, inner lining / 59% of the jacket’s weight) _ a mass pigmentation process (jacket cuffs and hem / 8% of the jacket's weight), this Snb JKT 100 JR snowboard jacket (8573487 & 8590046) reduces the CO² equivalent environmental impact by 15% compared to last year's JR snowboard jackets (8494524).
ADDITIONAL RECYCLED POLYESTER INFORMATION
By recycling plastic bottles or recycled fabrics to produce our polyester, we reduce the use of petrol-based resources while maintaining the material's quality and performance in practice.
ADDITIONAL MASS PIGMENTATION INFORMATION
Textile dyeing requires a lot of water and also produces waste water from the dye baths. To reduce this environmental impact, we opted for a bulk dyeing process that involves adding the colour pigments when the yarn itself is being produced.

How can I be sure that my jacket is strong and durable?
We guarantee our products for 5 years and will repair them with the help of local professionals if you should accidentally damage them. Contact us on our website to find out more about what you need to do to get your product repaired. We take particular care in choosing all the elements and assemblies that make up our products, so that they are as durable as possible for snowboarding use.
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we reinforce the waterproofing of the jacket with taped seams. These are heat-bonded waterproof strips placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. On this product, these waterproof seams are used in the areas the most exposed to the snow (hoods, shoulders).
What is the water repellent feature of my jacket for?
The water-repellent feature makes water run off the fabric without seeping in thanks to a treatment applied to its outer surface. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 to 3 washes on average, using the products available in our stores. All the waterproof jackets that we design for snowboarders are water repellent.
How will my jacket keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester which stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech or silicone-coated, each with different properties (warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc.) We use 100% recycled wadding to reduce the environmental impact of the product.
How do I look after my product?
To optimise the performance and durability of your product, we recommend: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn the product inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring by hand. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric using a fabric waterproofing spray.
