Technical Information

1
Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled 75/25, the fill power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
2
The advantages of duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the down jacket)
The down's long-lasting fill power gives it 3 important qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra-lightweight: with equal warmth feather is lighter than synthetic wadding. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible
3
Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers, which are sourced in accordance with our responsible material commitments. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering. http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/documents-et-rapports/documents/
4
The advantages of a synthetic filling (for the arms, sides and hood)
Synthetic filling (wadding) is an effective alternative to feathers: - it provides good thermal insulation even when wet - it provides a little breathability and may be recommended for dynamic activity (down is recommended for static or moderate activity)

Care instructions for a down jacket with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. Follow our tips by clicking the link below: http://www.quechua.com/wash-your-down-jacket
6
In the event of rain
This down jacket fabric is water-repellent. It allows drops of water to roll over the fabric, which means it takes longer for water to penetrate the jacket, giving you time to get to shelter. But the jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over your down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
7
Note regarding the light colour versions
The X-Light down jacket is made with a fine fabric in order to make it lightweight and compact. Please note that the feathers are slightly visible through the fabric of the lightest jackets.
8
A note to compare the environmental impact of the products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is allocated to help you more readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Test
All our down jackets are laboratory tested with 5 km/h wind, worn as a 3rd layer on a thermal mannequin (over a long sleeved t-shirt and fleece). Their level of thermal insulation is measured on a scale of 1 to 5, enabling you to make the choice that best fits your use.

Product test
Thermal chamber test It validates our design choices. We reproduce the temperature, wind and humidity conditions that you encounter in the mountains. In this way we can adapt our thermal insulation where you most need it. Feather impermeability test We use a test machine to ensure that the feathers do not escape from your jacket during your activities. So our fabrics are "sealed" with the feathers to ensure a lasting heat.

Maintenance tips
Caring for down jackets requires special attention. We recommend using specialist dry cleaning services for the care of your down jacket. Washing: machine wash at 30°C, add 2 tennis balls to ventilate the down. Rinse twice.Tumble drying highly recommended: synthetic programme with three tennis balls to ventilate the down, put the jacket through several cycles until the down has dried completely, otherwise it may clump, losing insulating power.
