Additional recommended products
Care products: spray or liquid water repellent treatment in the washing machine. To renew the fabric's water repellent properties and optimise performance throughout the lifespan of your garment. We recommend using these products with each wash.
8
How the recommended temperature is measured
Ambient temperature is thermally neutral: the user feels neither hot nor cold. Use temperature, in accordance with standard ISO 11079, under the following conditions: Walking at 5 km/h, no wind, cloudy. Jacket worn together with: upper body: long-sleeved T-shirt + shirt + sleeveless down gilet / lower body: tights + fleece base layer + trousers / head: chapka + hood / hands: under-gloves + gloves / feet: ski socks + boots.
9
Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting two hours).
10
Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
11
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity can escape, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
12
Component water resistance
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products are available for this purpose in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.

Quantity of feathers for each size
This is the quantity of feathers for each size of the parka. This weight corresponds to 90% of the theoretical weight. XS = 405 g / S = 496 g / M = 514 g / L = 547 g / XL = 558 g / XXL = 605 g / XXXL = 640 g
14
Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering. http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/documents-et-rapports/documents/
15
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated based on its entire life cycle and using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

The advantages of duck down and feather filling*
The durability and fill power properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible

Product test
To help you dress effectively, Forclaz - in partnership with Decathlon Research - provides you with recommended usage temperatures for its extreme cold product lines. Tests are carried out in an environmental chamber to measure the thermal insulating properties of products on a dummy. Physiological studies carried out by the Decathlon Research teams supplement these results to assess the level of warmth/cold perceived by users in real-life use.
